Our treated carcassing products are ready for immediate use and suitable for almost any type of structural work. Each piece has been treated to withstand the elements, helping prevent decay or rapid rot wherever you choose to use it. We also supply untreated carcassing on request, giving you flexibility for projects where treated timber may not be required.
HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT CARCASSING TIMBER
Choosing carcassing timber starts with the job it needs to do. Think about the span and load of the timber before settling on a size. The position and intended application are equally important. Structural applications also require an appropriate timber grade, so choosing a section purely because it looks right may not meet the project's needs. The conditions matter too. Timber exposed to moisture requires different specifications than wood used in a dry internal setting. With treated carcassing, the treatment provides added protection against decay, but it does not remove the need to choose timber suited to its intended use.
